The Martin Behrman Panoramic Photograph of San Francisco, California as Viewed from Rincon Hill in 1851 contains an album comprised of an 11-panel photographic reproduction of a panorama of San Francisco, California taken from Rincon Hill in 1851 by an unidentified photographer. Behrman made the reproduction from its original daguerreotype in 1910 as eleven gelatin silver prints.</abstract>

            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>Martin Behrman (1862-1945) was an amateur photographer and copyist who created reproductions of photographic negatives, daguerreotypes, and photographs of California. The negatives and photographs he copied were originally shot by other photographers active in the nineteenth century. Behrman’s work includes collections and albums of reproductions which he gathered together for sale and distribution.</p>

            <p>The Martin Behrman Panoramic Photograph of San Francisco, California as Viewed from Rincon Hill in 1851 contains an album comprised of an 11-panel photographic reproduction of a panorama of San Francisco, California taken from Rincon Hill in 1851 by an unidentified photographer. Behrman made the reproduction from its original daguerreotype in 1910 as eleven gelatin silver prints. Notes and comments identifying the locations pictured as well as copyright credit are handwritten in the negatives copied and in ink on the prints themselves.</p>
