The Album of Images of Guatemala City, Including Many Photographed by Alberto G. Valdeavellano contains one photograph album with 48 images of architecture and street life in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Included in the album are photographs of people, churches, theaters, cemeteries, plazas, and other locations. Several of the photographs in the album are credited to Guatemalan portrait and landscape photographer Alberto G. Valdeavellano. The album dates from 1882 to circa 1890s.</abstract>

            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>Alberto G. Valdeavellano (1861-1928) was a Guatemalan portrait and landscape photographer who worked primarily in Guatemala City. He was known for his portraits of the middle and upper classes, landscapes, and sports photography. He is also credited with documenting the lives of the indigenous people of Guatemala. Valdeavellano also produced work with an associate photographer under the name “El Siglo XX” (“The 20th Century”).</p>
