            <head>Historical Note</head>
            <p>The Goodyear Clearwater Mill Number 1 was opened in Ceadartown, Georgia, in 1898 as the Paragon Mill. The Goodyear Tire Company purchase the mill in 1926, and renamed it Goodyear Clearwater Mill Number 1. The mill produced cotton tire cord fabric for Goodyear tires, and remained in operation until 1983.</p>

            <head>Scope and Contents</head>
            <p>The Goodyear Clearwater Mills Photographs contains (11) black and white photographs of activities and equipment at the Goodyear Clearwater Mill. The photographs depict men and women at work in the mill, mill machinery, and cotton. At least one photograph belonged to the Goodyear News Service. Identification numbers are found in paint on the front of the images; descriptions (in pencil, pen, or typed onto separate paper and affixed by paste, staple, or tape) and identification numbers are found on the verso of all images. Materials date circa 1941-1944.</p>
