The Giuseppe Fiorelli Memorial Pamphlet collection contains the pamphlet “R. Accademia di Archeologia, Lettre e Belle Arti. In Memoria di Giuseppe Fiorelli.” In addition, it includes the newspaper article titled “Il carteggio inedito dell’archeologo Fiorelli: Lettre dello Schliemann e del Mommsen.” Materials in this collection are dated 1896 and 1927.</abstract>

            <p>Giuseppe Fiorelli was an Italian archaeologist whose excavations at Pompeii helped to preserve the city and contributed to modern archaeology methods. He initially worked in Pompeii in 1848, later directing excavations there from 1863-1875.</p>

            <p>The Giuseppe Fiorelli Memorial Pamphlet collection contains the pamphlet “R. Accademia di Archeologia, Lettre e Belle Arti. In Memoria di Giuseppe Fiorelli.” The pamphlet documents Fiorelli’s scientific studies and his archaeological work at Pompeii. In addition, it includes the newspaper article titled “Il carteggio inedito dell’archeologo Fiorelli: Lettre dello Schliemann e del Mommsen” about a group of Fiorelli’s correspondence that was newly discovered in 1927. Materials in this collection are dated 1896 and 1927.</p>
