            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>Eric Wahleen was a sergeant in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He was stationed at the Boca Raton Army Air Field in Florida during 1943. Wahleen was an amateur photographer whose work was published in magazines, including 
                <emph render="italic">Popular Photography</emph> and 
                <emph render="italic">Life Magazine</emph>, from the 1940s into the 1970s. Many of his photographs were a series of cartoonish scenarios.</p>

            <head>Scope and Contents</head>
            <p>Self-Portraits by Eric Wahleen Taken While Stationed at Boca Raton Army Air Field contains two series of photographs taken by Eric Wahleen. The first series of photographs depicts a cartoonish scenario and a self-portrait of Wahleen washing his socks that have hardened from sweat. On the back of these photographs are his own captions and his address at the time. The second series of photographs contains self-portraits that also have fellow servicemen in them. On the back of these photographs is information about the other men in the photographs. The photographs are dated circa 1943.</p>
