During World War II, French language propaganda leaflets were produced by the Allied powers to distribute to sympathizers in occupied France and Belgium. The leaflets were used to update civilians on the war and boost morale. On December 8, 1941, Great Britain and the United States declared war on Japan. On December 11, 1941, the United States declared war on Germany and Italy, bringing the United States fully into the conflicts of WWII. These declarations came in the wake of Japanese attacks on Malaya, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Pearl Harbor.
