            <abstract id="ref1" label="Abstract">Harold "Hart" Crane (1899-1932) was a modernist poet. Born in Garrettsville, Ohio, he moved to New York as a teenager and began to write poetry about the city of New York. Hart Crane died in 1932 when he committed suicide in Mexico. Hart Crane Correspondence to Grace Hart Crane and Elizabeth B. Hart contains two handwritten letters from Hart Crane sent to his mother, Grace, and grandmother, Elizabeth, in 1924.</abstract>

            <head>Scope and Contents</head>
            <p>Hart Crane Correspondence to Grace Hart Crane and Elizabeth B. Hart contains two handwritten letters from Hart Crane sent to his mother, Grace, and grandmother, Elizabeth. The letter to his mother is dated January 9, 1924 and explains why he is not interested in taking over the Crane Chocolate Company from his father. The letter addressed to "Grace and Grandma" is dated November 9, 1924 and is a general reflection on his recent social activities.</p>
