        <bioghist id="ref67">
            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>Peter Ganick (1946-2020) was an Avant-garde poet, artist, and author. He received a Bachelor of Music in 1969 from Boston University in Massachusetts. In the early 1970s, Ganick started Roxbury Poetry Enterprises, a poetry press in Boston, and published his first book, 
                <emph render="italic">Some Poems</emph>. Ganick started Potes and Poets Press in 1980, which published poetry chapbooks. During that year, he began painting and creating visual art. Potes and Poets Press expanded in 1982, and gained non-profit status. Ganick started several serial publications in the 1980s and 1990s, including 
                <emph render="italic">A.bacus</emph>, 
                <emph render="italic">The Zine</emph>, and 
                <emph render="italic">PotePoetText</emph>. He sold Potes and Poets Press in 2000, and focused on creating visual art, primarily consisting of abstract paintings and drawings. By 2003, Ganick returned to publishing and started a company called Blue Lion Books. As of 2020, the company's operational status is unknown.</p>

            <p>The Peter Ganick Collection contains poetry and minicassette recorder and minicassettes along with (190) 5x7 pieces of abstract art and (2) postcards by Elizabeth Enders. Also included are approximately 600 paintings in 3X5, 4X6, and 8X10 sizes, 3 sketchbooks, a small album of artwork, correspondence, and an audio CD. Materials are dated 2005-circa 2018, and undated</p>
