Otto Kühn was an Obersturmführer in the S.S. Division of the Nazi Party during World War II. He was held as a prisoner of war in Russia.
The Otto Kühn Papers contains 17 personal notebooks, travel itineraries for Europe and the Soviet Union, clippings about Christmas, song lyrics, notes, and other ephemera, dated 1931-1984. The notebooks contain poetry, short writings, school notes, letters to different individuals, notes about publishers, and travel notes. The poetry is both written by Kühn and quoted from other poets, such as Theodor Storm. Since Kühn served in the S.S. Division in Germany during World War II, some of the notebooks may contain references to the war, but they do not address it at length.
