Michael A. Quinn (1895-1982) was a Colonel in the United States Army during World War II. He was captured at the battle of Bataan when the Japanese invaded the Philippines in April 1942. Quinn was held prisoner at Camp O'Donnell, Capas, Tarlac in the Philippines, and later at Camp Hoten in Manchuria (modern day China) from May 1942 until September 1945. During that time he kept a diary of his experiences in the form of unsent letters written to his wife and seven children.
The Michael A. Quinn Autograph Books and Diary ("Love Letters to Mike: Forty Months as a Japanese Prisoner of War") contains a second edition copy of "Love Letters to Mike", published in 2004, and copies of autograph books Quinn kept throughout World War II. Originally published in 1977, "Love Letters to Mike" is Colonel Michael A. Quinn's account of his time spent as a Japanese prisoner of war during World War II, written in the form of unsent letters to his wife and children. The autograph books are photocopies and digital copies, made circa 2006, and contain names and addresses of individuals, most of them military personnel, alongside their signatures.
