He was an avid memorabilia collector on Jack London and was co-writer of Jack London: A Bibliography published in 1966. Jack London was an American novelist during the early twentieth century best known for books such as The Call of the Wild, White Fang, and Martin Eden. The George H. Tweney Collection on Jack London contains manuscripts for Tweney’s bibliography, catalogs which include listings for London's books, correspondence, and ephemera, clippings, and photographs of Jack London and his wife Charmian. Photocopies of some of London’s stories, artifacts, and centennial programs and plans are also included. The collection is dated 1890-1983. Biographical Note

George H. Tweney was an engineer for The Boeing Company, as well as an historian and book collector. He authored the book The Washington 89, a bibliography of 89 books on the development and history of the Pacific Northwest. Tweney was an avid collector on Jack London who amassed many materials relating to Jack London and his writings. He was co-writer of Jack London: A Bibliography published in 1966.

Jack London (1876-1916) was an American novelist and social activist during the early twentieth century best known for books such as The Call of the Wild, White Fang, and Martin Eden. He wrote many short stories and worked as a journalist.

Scope and Contents

The George H. Tweney Collection on Jack London contains manuscripts for Tweney’s bibliography, clippings, and photographs of Jack London and his wife Charmian. Copies of some of London’s stories, book-plate designs, and centennial programs and plans are also included. The collection has many catalogs which include listings for London books, correspondence, and ephemera. Two signed photographs, two wood plaques (one with a quote and one with a picture), and a woodblock with a quote are also in the collection. The collection is dated 1890-1983.
