The documents, which consist primarily of Nazi Germany government publications and correspondence, as well as war crimes transcripts, were compiled by German-speaking American academic Judith Ann Weller, with the aim of calling into question the prosecution of Schutzstaffel (SS) Nazi officers. About half the documents are in German, and the other half are in English. The original documents were produced primarily between the 1930s and 1940s, and were photocopied between the 1950s and 1970s.

Biographical Note

Judith Ann Weller, a German-speaking American, had ties to academia in the United States in the 1960s and 1970s. She visited numerous archives, including the United States National Archives, in order to compile research on the activities of the German Schutzstaffel (SS) officers during World War II. Part of this research culminated in her essay "Das geschehen an der Malmedy Kreuzung," which was a Nazi-sympathetic account of the 1944 Malmedy massacre in which American prisoners of war were killed by German captors during World War II. Her compilation of documents and her resulting paper have been cited by Nazi-apologist literature, notably "Der Malmedy Prozess: Ein Ringen um Gerechtigkeit" by Ralf Tiefmann.

The Judith Ann Weller Research Materials on the Activities of German Schutzstaffel (SS) Officers contains photocopied documents compiled and annotated by Judith Ann Weller between the 1950s and 1970s. The majority of the original documents were produced between the mid-1930s and the mid-1940s. These documents are mainly Nazi Germany government publications and correspondence, and International Military Tribunal transcripts and related documents. They relate to events taking place during World War II, the Richssicherheitshauptamt, high-ranking German Nazi official Reinhard Heydrich and other members of the Schutzstaffel (SS), and World War II War crime trials. The documents are split evenly between German and English language, with the war crimes documents being mostly in English and the Reichssicherheitshauptampt documents being primarily in German.
