 Biographical Note

Rochelle Lynn Holt DuBois (born 1946 in Chicago, Illinois) is, as of 2006, an American poet, educator, and literary editor. DuBois earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Iowa, and a Ph.D. from Columbia Pacific University. She was a student of the French-American diarist and essayist Anaïs Nin. In 1985, Letters of Human Nature, a book she co-wrote with Virginia Love Long, was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. She also served as a writing instructor at several grade schools, colleges, and universities throughout the United States, and lived in New Jersey at the time of this collection's creation.

The Rochelle DuBois Papers, dated 1971-1986, contains correspondence, typescripts, photographs, interviews, and reviews of work by New Jersey-based writer and teacher Rochelle Lynn Holt DuBois and associates such as Lili Bita, Courtenay Graham, Judith Hipskind, Barry Donald Jones, and Deena Metzger. The collection includes discussion about Anaïs Nin and her husband Ian Hugo, as well as the work of other poets and artists.
