            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>Helen Fuller (1898-1976) lived in Columbus, Ohio, with her husband, Samuel. Her brother, John J. Swisher, served in the 274th infantry of the United States Air Transport Command during World War II. He was first stationed at Camp Odair, Oregon in 1943, before transferring to Ford Ode, California. Between 1943 and 1945, Swisher was stationed across the Pacific theatre of the war in Australia, New Guinea, the Philippines, and Guam. He was discharged in 1945 after the end of the war.</p>
            <p>Individuals in this collection include: Helen Fuller, Helen's husband Samuel Fuller, Helen's brother John J. Swisher, John's wife Margaret (Peg) Swisher, Helen's nephew Kelman Fuller, and Helen's friends Ann Van Dyke and Margaret H. Hahn.</p>

            <head>Scope and Contents</head>
            <p>The Helen Fuller Correspondence and Photographs from Swisher and Fuller Family Members and Friends consist primarily of more than one hundred letters, postcards, and V Mail sent from John J. Swisher, a member of the United States Air Force Air Transport Command, to his sister, Helen Fuller, of Columbus, Ohio, during World War II. There are also letters and postcards that Fuller received from her sister-in-law, nephew, and friends during the same time period. The collection also contains several items of memorabilia, including family photographs, clippings from the Free Philippines propaganda magazine that was distributed in the Philippines during World War II, and photobooks and a bookmark that Swisher collected during his time in service. The collection dates from circa 1942-1945.</p>
