            <head>Historical Note</head>
            <p>As of 2026, Granary Books is an independent small press and rare books and archives dealer based in New York City. Granary Books was established in 1985 in Minneapolis, Minnesota under the name Origin Books. In 1988, the business moved to Manhattan and changed their name to Granary Books, with a mission to produce, promote, document, and theorize new works exploring the intersection of word, image, and page.</p>
            <p>Steve Clay is the owner of Granary Books, and is co-director with Mary Catherine Kinniburgh.</p>

            <head>Scope and Contents</head>
            <p>The Spreads and Artwork for Granary Books Publications contains poems, prints, and artwork that were distributed with Granary Books orders. These items were made by various creators including Ric Haynes, Vincent Katz, and Francesco Clemente. The content focuses primarily on mental health through digital print, watercolor, and letterpress. The creators included in this collection were selected by Granary Books to investigate the use of words and images in avant-garde and experimental poetry and visual works. The materials are dated 1995-2008.</p>
