            <p>Walter Thomas Beeson (1861-1947) was an administrator, possibly the bursar, at St. John's College, Oxford University. Beeson wrote mystery stories as an attempt to supplement his income, but it is unclear if any of his submitted manuscripts were ever published.</p>

            <head>Scope and Contents</head>
            <p>The Walter Beeson Manuscripts, dated 1889-1892, contains handwritten manuscripts of mystery stories by Walter Beeson. Each of the manuscripts was submitted to publishers from Beeson's home in Oxford, England. Each manuscript is bound using metal fasteners, and one, "Marked Money," was submitted to a competition known as the "Answers Story Competition."</p>
