Historical Note
Sniffin' Glue Zine was started by Mark Perry in July 1976, and ran for 12 issues; the name was taken from the Ramones song "Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue." The DIY fanzine was the first to write about punk rock in England and documented the early days of the punk movement, which was ignored by the mainstream press at the time. The final issue of
Sniffin' Glue was distributed in August-September 1977; Perry ended the zine for fear of becoming a part of mainstream music press, which was the antithesis of the zine's purpose. Following
Sniffin' Glue, Perry began a career as a writer and musician.
