            <abstract id="ref7" label="Abstract">As of 2020, Evelyn Eller is an artist primarily working in paper collage and artist's books. Eller's interest in travel and culture is displayed in her work with the use of languages and script fragments, maps, and landscapes, with the intention of showing the interrelatedness of cultures and their commonalities. Evelyn Eller Mail Art and Collages contains photocopies of Eller's mail art created between 1983 and 2015, two original music collages on paper created in 2006, and fourteen original language collages on paper, created in 1994, 1996, 1999, 2006-2011, 2014, and 2016.</abstract>

            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>As of 2020, Evelyn Eller is an artist primarily working in paper collage and artist's books. She studied at the School for Art Studies and the Art Students League in New York City from 1950-1954. Eller completed a Fulbright Fellowship at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, Italy from 1954-1955. She also attended the Pratt Graphic Center in 1983, and the School for Visual Arts in 1989, both located in New York City. Her work has been exhibited in various galleries across the United States and internationally. Eller's interest in travel and culture is displayed in her work with the use of languages and script fragments, maps, and landscapes, with the intention of showing the interrelatedness of cultures and their commonalities.</p>

            <head>Scope and Contents</head>
            <p>Evelyn Eller Mail Art and Collages contains photocopies of Eller's mail art created between 1983 and 2016, fourteen original language collages on paper, and two original music collages on paper. The mail art is comprised of postage stamps, mailed envelopes, drawings, text and maps arranged in a collage and photocopied onto various colors of copy paper. Eller's language collages are numbered by her, and consist of paper fragments of drawings and scripts in various languages adhered to large pieces of color paper. The collages included in this collection are #632, #657, #665, #694, #796, #812, #825, #829, #833, #851, #867, #908, #916, and #953. They were created in 1994, 1996, 1999, 2007-2011, 2014, and 2016. Her music collages are also numbered by her, and consist of paper fragments of musical notes and other music related imagery adhered to large pieces of color paper. The collages in this collection are #780 and #798, both created in 2006.</p>
