            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>Stephen Henry Thayer (1839-1919) was a poet and editor. His estate, “Edgewood,” was located on the Hudson River in Sleepy Hollow. Many of Thayer's poems focused on the area around his home, “Edgewood.” His poetry was published in newspapers, magazines, and in books. Thayer also wrote essays on other authors and edited several journals.</p>
