Russell B. Bridgham Pencil Sketches and Watercolors of Combat and Other Military Activities contains a Winsor brand spiral-bound sketchbook with 24 pencil sketches and 3 watercolor works. The images primarily depict scenes of war, soldiers, and combat, but also include a few sketches about academics, and were created circa 1945. World War II was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945, between the Allied powers (the United States, Soviet Union, China, and the United Kingdom) and the Axis powers (Germany, Japan, and Italy). The war resulted in the fall of Nazi Germany and the Japanese and Italian Empires, as well as the creation of the United Nations. The art depicted in the sketchbook is attributed to Russell B. Bridgham, however, no information is known about who he was.
