Biographical Note
John M. Bennett (1942- ) was a curator at Ohio State University Libraries until 2013. He is a poet and as of 2017, he has worked in a wide variety of genres, including text, visual poetry, graphics, sound and performance poetry, mail art, film and media, and has collaborated with other writers and artists from around the world. He is also co-editor with Geoff Smith of the
Revised Boy Scout Manual, written by William S. Burroughs. Burroughs (1914-1997) was an American novelist and short story writer, who was also a primary figure of the beat generation and a major postmodernist author. Smith (1948- ) earned his undergraduate degree at Tufts University and his doctorate in American Literature and Textual Studies at Indiana University. He became the first Curator of the William Charvat Collection of American Fiction at Ohio State University Libraries in 1983 and was appointed Head of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Library in 1992.
