            <abstract id="ref15" label="Abstract">Emil M. Taussig, of Cleveland, Ohio, enlisted in the 331st Infantry in September, 1917. During World War I, the 331st Infantry of the 83rd Division, a branch of the United States Army, activated at Camp Sherman in Chillicothe, Ohio. The Emil M. Taussig World War I Papers contain Taussig's diary and a photo album he created with pictures from Camp Sherman in Ohio and overseas in France. The Emil M. Taussig World War I Papers also include a banner celebrating Taussig's discharge from service that states both when he joined the 331st Infantry and when he was discharged.</abstract>

            <p>Emil M. Taussig (1889-1955) of Cleveland, Ohio, enlisted in the 331st Infantry in September, 1917. During World War I, the 331st Infantry of the 83rd Division, a branch of the United States Army, activated at Camp Sherman in Chillicothe, Ohio. In June of 1918, the 331st Infantry went overseas to France, and was inactivated in 1919.</p>
