Rudi Franke was a German captain during World War II. He spent part of his time in the war in an American prisoner of war camp. He was married to Herta Schneider Franke.
Rudi Franke Correspondence to Herta Schneider Franke contains letters from German Captain Rudi Franke during World War II. The letters are addressed mainly to Franke's wife Herta Schneider Franke, but a few are to other family members. The collection includes approximately 340 letters, dated 1940 to 1945. Four letters are from Franke's time in an American prisoner of war camp. Some of the letters contain newspaper clippings and pressed flowers.
