Siegfried Thiele was a member of the German Luftwaffe and German Navy during World War II. He served from approximately 1942 to 1945, including in labor camps.
The Siegfried Theile Papers contain nine diaries written by Siegfried Thieile during his service in the German Luftwaffe and German Navy during World War II. The diaries contain records of Theile's daily life, work, and military education. Some photographs have been glued into the diaries. Two of the diaries are handwritten narratives about the history of German sea navigation, including pencil drawings. The collection also contains looseleaf notes and clippings. The collection is dated 1942-1945.
