Biographical Note

Malok is the artist name for Michael Kubsch of Waukau, Wisconsin. He primarily works in the medium of mail art, but has also created collages, copy art, and music. Malok collaborates with Bern Porter on artwork. As of 2022, he is still active in the mail art community.

Mail art is a populist artistic movement that is focused on sending small scale artworks through the postal service. This art is often in the form of decorated envelopes, though can also refer to the contents of the envelopes as well.

The Malok Mail Art and Collages dates from 1991, 2000-2010, and consists of mail art sent by Malok to recipients who worked at the Ohio State University Libraries, primarily John M.
