            <abstract id="ref1" label="Abstract">Baron Von Geraldo is an artist and poet; John M. Bennett is an American experimental visual poet and mail artist. As of 2022, Bennett and Baron collaborate on visual poems. The Baron Von Geraldo and John M. Bennett Visual Poetry Collaborations, dating 2003-2010, consists of visual poetry created collaboratively by the two men, as well as incidental collaborations with other visual poets, and email correspondence between Baron, Bennett, and others. This correspondence describes the iterative process of creating collaborative visual poetry, and how it changes with each addition by different poets.</abstract>

        <bioghist id="ref12">
            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>Baron Von Geraldo, also known as Gerald Karlovec or Baron (1941-) is an artist and poet. He graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1965 with his Bachelors in Fine Arts, and then attended Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), where he graduated with his Masters in 1967. Throughout the course of his career, he taught art in the Cleveland public school system, at CWRU, and at the Cleveland Museum of Art. From 1975-1986, Baron primarily worked with the medium of mail art; after that time, he began focusing on visual poetry, and as of 2022, it is still his primary artistic medium.</p>
            <p>John M. Bennett is an American experimental visual poet, and participates in the mail art community. He was also the curator of the Avant Writing Collection at the Ohio State University Libraries. As of 2022, Bennett and Baron still collaborate on visual poems.</p>

            <head>Scope and Contents</head>
            <p>The Baron Von Geraldo and John M. Bennett Visual Poetry Collaborations, dating 2003-2010, consists of visual poetry created collaboratively by the two men, as well as incidental collaborations between Baron, Bennett, Jim Leftwich, Ficus Strangulensis, Luc Fierens, Peter Ganick, and other visual poets. Physical and digital visual poetry collaborations are represented in this collection. The collection also contains email correspondence between Baron, Bennett, and others. This correspondence describes the iterative process of creating collaborative visual poetry, and how it changes with each addition by different poets.</p>
