            <head>Historical Note</head>
            <p>Columbia College Chicago is, as of 2023, a private arts college in Chicago, Illinois. Founded as the Columbia School of Oratory in 1890, it adopted its current name in 1997.</p>
            <p>Craig Jobson worked as an Associate Professor in the College's Art + Design Department from 1997 until his retirement in 2014. From 2004-2013, Jobson led production of 
                <emph render="italic">Columbia Zine</emph>, a collaboration between students in Publication Design and Fiction Writing classes. During 2007 and 2008, Jobson and other members of the Art + Design Department published 
                <emph render="italic">MADE: More Art + Design Enterprises</emph>.</p>

            <p>Columbia College Chicago, Art + Design Department Zines, dated 2004-2013, contains sixteen issues of 
                <emph render="italic">Zine Columbia</emph> and three issues of 
                <emph render="italic">MADE: More Art + Design Enterprises</emph>.</p>
            <p>
                <emph render="italic">Zine Columbia</emph> was a collaborative zine created by students taking courses in Publication Design and Fiction Writing. The magazine changed its title at least three times, going by the names 
                <emph render="italic">Columbia Zine</emph>, 
                <emph render="italic">Columbia College Zine</emph>, 
                <emph render="italic">Zine Columbia College</emph>, and 
                <emph render="italic">Zine Columbia</emph> at various times throughout its publication run, but most issues were published under the name 
                <emph render="italic">Zine Columbia</emph>. It is unknown if production of this zine continued after 2013.</p>
            <p>
                <emph render="italic">MADE: More Art + Design Enterprises</emph> was a semi-annual design-focused journal created by students in the Publication Design course. 
                <emph render="italic">MADE</emph> was discontinued after three issues.</p>

                        <emph render="italic">Columbia Zine</emph>,

                        <emph render="italic">Zine Columbia</emph>, dated 2004, 2007-2013, contains 16 issues of the student publication that began its run as 
                        <emph render="italic">Columbia Zine</emph> and ended it as 
                        <emph render="italic">Zine Columbia</emph>.</p>
                    <p>Most issues of the zine are double issues, with two covers, two titles, and two themes in each volume. This type of binding is often referred to as either a dos-à-dos back-to-back) or a tête-bêche (head-to-toe) binding. The issue published in Fall 2013 was published with 26 different covers, each one designed by a different student in that semester's Publication Design course, but with identical content. This collection includes four copies of that issue, each with a different cover.</p>
                    <p>The publication went by multiple names throughout its run. Except where noted in the container list, issues of this zine were published under the title 
                        <emph render="italic">Zine Columbia</emph>.</p>
