The Minority Rights Button Collection contains political buttons primarily associated with women's, black, and LGBT rights. The collection is dated 1969-1979, as well as some undated materials.

Historical Note
The 1960s and 1970s were known as the Civil Rights Era in the United States. During this time, there were many minority equality movements that advocated for equal social rights. These included ethnicity equity, gender equity, and the gay liberation movement.
Scope and Contents
The Minority Rights Button Collection contains political buttons promoting movements and ideas related to social equality, particularly focused on LGBT, women's, and black rights. Many of the buttons list their associated event name or organization. The collection is dated 1969-1979, as well as some undated materials.
