            <head>Historical Note</head>
            <p>
                <emph render="italic">Comestible</emph> was a quarterly zine about food and food culture published by writer and artist Anna Brones. The zine focused on seasonal foods, agriculture and farmers, and environmental sustainability in food systems. Eight issues were published between spring 2016 and winter 2019. While the print publication ceased production in 2019, its accompanying website continued being updated until 2021.</p>
            <p>Anna Brones is, as of 2023, a food writer and cut-paper artist based in Washington state. Brones has written multiple books about food and food culture, and her work has been featured in various magazines relating to food, nature, and the outdoors. In addition to publishing 
                <emph render="italic">Comestible</emph>, Brones also designed and created the cover art for each issue.</p>
