Wilkie, a former professor at the Ohio State University, and his wife, Edna Wilkie, conducted interviews in the 1960s. They used this research to eventually publish a book in four volumes, Against the Mexican Revolution, 17 Protagonists of the Constructive Stage. The James W. Wilkie and Edna Wilkie Interviews for Against the Mexican Revolution, 17 Protagonists of the Constructive Stage contains unedited transcripts and recordings on magnetic tapes of interviews. Those interviewed include political leaders as well as authors, diplomats, and others. Materials are dated circa 1964-1967. This collection is unprocessed. Materials are arranged alphabetically by interviewee last name or the name listed on the item, with recordings listed before the transcriptions of the recording. The recordings have numbers in the title, which may refer to the copy number; inside some of the recording cases there is a slip of paper that says "recording 1 of 2." Names with multiple recordings are arranged in numerical order based on the numbers on the recordings.

Biographical Note

James W. Wilkie (1936- ) received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1958, and his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley). In 1964, James W. Wilkie, a professor, and his wife, Edna Wilkie, began conducting interviews, which was funded by the Ohio State University and UC Berkeley. During this project, they interviewed a total of 124 people, and most of the interviews were published between 1995 and 2004 in a four volume book, Against the Mexican Revolution, 17 Protagonists of the Constructive Stage. Wilkie worked at Ohio State University from 1965-1968, and then worked at the University of California, Los Angeles in the Department of History beginning in 1968.

Wilkie and Edna Wilkie Interviews for Against the Mexican Revolution, 17 Protagonists of the Constructive Stage contains recordings on magnetic tapes and unedited transcripts of oral history interviews for a four volume book, Against the Mexican Revolution, 17 Protagonists of the Constructive Stage dated circa 1964-1967. The interviews were conducted with political leaders as well as authors, diplomats, and others.
