Historical Note
The Logan Elm Press was a fine arts publishing press at Ohio State University from 1978 to 2015. The press printed materials including books, posters, and broadsheets. Logan Elm Press was initially founded under the Art Education department. In 1980, the press was moved to the Communications Laboratory. Throughout much of its existence, students were able to work at the press for course credit. In 1990, Logan Elm Press moved to Kinnear Road Research Center and was put under the Office of Academic Affairs. In 2011, the press moved to the University Libraries Tech Center. Logan Elm Press suspended operations in 2015, after the retirement of the head of the press, Bob Tauber, in 2014.
Scope and Contents
The Logan Elm Press Records contains mainly broadsheets printed by the press, but also certificates, posters, photographs, and book negatives. The collection also contains a letter and an article about the Logan Elm Press in the Ohio State University Alumni Magazine. The materials date from circa 1940s to 2014.
