The Robert Peary Toby Jug, produced in approximately 1910, contains a commemorative toby jug depicting Robert Peary dressed in the outwear and equipment he wore during exploration.</abstract>

            <p>Robert Peary was an officer in the United States Navy, and an American explorer who led several expeditions to various locations in the Arctic during the late 1800s and early 1900s. In April of 1909, Peary led an expedition that is possibly the first to have reached the geographic North Pole.</p>

            <head>Scope and Contents</head>
            <p>The Robert Peary Toby Jug contains a commemorative toby jug depicting Robert Peary dressed in the coat, hat, and gloves he wore duing during his Arctic expeditions, with equipment depicted both in a coat pocket and worn over the shoulder. This toby jug was produced around 1910 in Germany, and is numbered 5569 by the maker.</p>
