 Biographical Note

Orville March, Junior (1928-2007) served as Seaman Second Class aboard the U.S.S. (United States Ship) Pine Island during Operation Highjump, 1946-1947. March was in the United States Navy from 1946 until 1966. He retired as Personnelman Senior Chief Petty Officer.

 Scope and Contents

The Orville March Scrapbooks contain scrapbooks compiled by Orville March, Junior dated 1946-1948, 1967, and 1995. The scrapbooks mostly contain newspaper clippings related to Operation Highjump as well as certificates, programs, and a photograph. Also included is the Shellback certificate given to March during his service aboard the U.S.S. (United States Ship) Pine Island to commemorate crossing the equator.
