            <abstract id="ref1" label="Abstract">Orville March, Junior was in the United States Navy and served as Seaman Second Class aboard the U.S.S. (United States Ship) Pine Island during Operation Highjump, 1946-1947. The Orville March Scrapbooks contain scrapbooks compiled by Orville March, Junior dated 1946-1948, 1967, and 1995. The scrapbooks mostly contain newspaper clippings related to Operation Highjump as well as certificates, including March's Shellback certificate, programs, and a photograph.</abstract>

            <p>Orville March, Junior (1928-2007) served as Seaman Second Class aboard the U.S.S. (United States Ship) Pine Island during Operation Highjump, 1946-1947. March was in the United States Navy from 1946 until 1966. He retired as Personnelman Senior Chief Petty Officer.</p>

            <p>The Orville March Scrapbooks contain scrapbooks compiled by Orville March, Junior dated 1946-1948, 1967, and 1995. The scrapbooks mostly contain newspaper clippings related to Operation Highjump as well as certificates, programs, and a photograph. Also included is the Shellback certificate given to March during his service aboard the U.S.S. (United States Ship) Pine Island to commemorate crossing the equator.</p>
