The Dian Belanger Papers contain two narratives pertaining to Antarctic exploration and Operation Deep Freeze II, as well as two copies of a cartoon credited to Jack Brown that depict Ellsworth Station during Operation Deep Freeze II.  Biographical Note

As of 2024, Dian Belanger is a docent at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. She is the author of Deep Freeze: The United States, the International Geophysical Year, and the Origins of Antarctica's Age of Science. She has served as the associate curator and technical editor for exhibits at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. Before becoming a public historian, Belanger worked as a history teacher.

Belanger conducted the Deep Freeze Oral History program, which brought together oral history interviews with veterans of Operations Deep Freeze I and Deep Freeze II. The oral histories have been donated to the Byrd Polar Research Center Archival Program.
