            <abstract id="ref13" label="Abstract">Glenn H. Bryant was a seismologist who was a part of Admiral Richard E. Byrd’s second Antarctic Expedition, 1933-1935. He arrived in Antarctica on the Single-screw Steamship (SS) 
                <emph render="italic">Bear</emph> in late 1934 as part of the return crew and stayed for Antarctic Spring of 1935. The Glenn H. Bryant Papers, which dates from circa 1933-1936 and circa 2000-2007, contains artifacts, photographs, correspondence, and a compact disc relating to his participation in Byrd Antarctic Expedition II.</abstract>

            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>Glenn H. Bryant was a member of Admiral Richard E. Byrd’s second Antarctic Expedition, 1933-1935. He participated as a seismologist aboard the SS 
                <emph render="italic">Bear</emph>. Bryant joined the expedition in late 1934 as part of the return crew. After the Antarctic spring season of 1935, Bryant sailed back to the United States. After Antarctica, Bryant lectured about his experiences with Byrd from 1936-1950 for civic groups such as chambers of commerce.</p>

            <head>Scope and Contents</head>
            <p>The Glenn H. Bryant Papers, which dates from circa 1933-1936 and circa 2000-2007, contains artifacts, photographs, correspondence, seismograph plans, and a compact disc relating to his participation in Byrd Antarctic Expedition II. The artifacts found in this collection include snow googles, a workboot, three triangular light cloth box kites and four trail flags.</p>
