        <bioghist id="ref11">
            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>As of 2025, Dr. Brad Robert Wenstrup is a retired United States Representative for Ohio’s 2nd congressional district. In February 2025, he was selected by President Donald Trump to serve on the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1958, Wenstrup graduated from St. Xavier High School and the University of Cincinnati. He graduated with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in 1985. He practiced podiatric medicine in Cincinnati for more than 20 years before being elected to Congress.</p>
            <p>Wenstrup served in the United States Army Reserve from 1998 to 2022, where he served a tour in Iraq with the 344th Combat Support Hospital. He achieved the rank of colonel and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Combat Action Badge during his time in the Reserve.</p>
            <p>In 2012, Wenstrup ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in Ohio’s 2nd district. He ran against incumbent Republican U.S. congresswoman Jean Schmidt in the Republican primary, which he won, then went on to defeat the Democratic nominee in the general election. He served as congressman for Ohio’s 2nd district from 2013-2025. In 2018, he was selected to serve on the House Ways and Means Committee. Wenstrup announced he was not running for reelection in 2024.</p>

            <p>The Brad Wenstrup Papers, dated 2011 -2024, contains materials related to and created during Brad Wenstrup’s term as the United States Representative for Ohio’s 2nd district. The collection contains correspondence, committee meeting notes, newspaper articles related to Wenstrup and political incidents in the United States, speeches, legislative bills, photographs, certificates and posters.</p>
