Rita Jane Smith enrolled in the Riverside Hospital School of Nursing in 1963 and graduated in 1966. In her long career at Riverside, she has held the positions of staff nurse, head nurse, nursing director and director of nursing philanthropy. Additionally, Smith volunteered as a Red Cross nurse and was president of the Riverside-White Cross Nursing Alumnae Association.
The Rita Jane Smith Oral History (0.25 linear foot) contains copies of an oral history interview conducted with Smith on November 14, 2012, about her life and career.
The collection is open to the public and is available for viewing in the Medical Heritage Center. Materials do not circulate and must be used in the supervised reading room.
