Thomas Lance Caldwell entered the Capital University School of Nursing in Bexley, Ohio, in 1961. While in nursing school he worked at Columbus Children’s Hospital and elected to begin his nursing career there. Then Caldwell transitioned to clinical sales with Support Systems International. Next he was recruited by Medical Personnel Pool (later known as Interim Health Care) to develop a home care program for pediatric patients. The program eventually reached patients in Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Michigan and grew to serve patients with diverse conditions and needs. Caldwell held the roles of Supervisor, Director of the Pediatric Program and Director of Sales and Marketing; then moved to Interim Health Care’s management group.
He was involved in the Ohio Nurses Association. His wife, Lori, was a pediatric nurse practitioner.
