Debbie Cannon Freece graduated from The Ohio State University School of Nursing in 1974. Her first position was at the Arlington Court, a long-term care facility in Upper Arlington, Ohio. She was a staff nurse, then active nursing director. In 1980, Freece graduated with her master’s in nursing administration and education. Then she was hired at the Ohio Department of Health to develop training programs for nurses in long term care facilities. Freece was always involved in the American Nurses Association and the Mid Ohio Nurses Association (MODNA). In 1990 she became the executive director of MODNA.
The Debbie Freece Oral History (0.25 linear foot) contains copies of an oral history interview conducted with Freece on August 24, 2011, accompanied by her curriculum vitae, an award ceremony program and portrait.
The collection is open to the public and is available for viewing in the Medical Heritage Center. Materials do not circulate and must be used in the supervised reading room. Restrictions, including copyright, may exist and some materials may be too fragile to photocopy or digitize. The MHC charges for duplication services, which must be performed by staff.
