Jeanette K. Chambers graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1966. After a year working at Lima Memorial Hospital, she went to Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where she spent her career. Chambers obtained her master's degree from The Ohio State University in 1972 and became the first nurse in the Columbus area to be a clinical nurse specialist (CNS) in nephrology nursing, the care of renal patients. Her forty years plus career evolved with changes in the medical system and nursing field.
