            <head>Biography</head>
            <p>Mary Piper Cole entered the White Cross Hospital School of Nursing in 1940. After graduating in 1943 she registered as a private duty nurse. In this role Cole could be called to any hospital in the city to work any of three shifts. Cole also worked for a radiologist, Dr. Kirkendahl, for several years. In 1945 she married Dr. Clarence Cole, a professor of veterinary medicine at The Ohio State University. They had three children and Cole focused on parenting.</p>

            <p>The collection is open to the public and is available for viewing in the Medical
                Heritage Center. Materials do not circulate and must be used in the supervised
                reading room. Restrictions, including copyright, may exist and some materials may be
                too fragile to photocopy or digitize. The MHC charges for duplication services,
                which must be performed by staff.
