Carol Converse Karrer graduated from the Grant Hospital School of Nursing in 1961, then went to The Ohio State University to obtain her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Her professional focus was nursing education. Karrer taught on and off at Children’s Hospital for many years. As a coordinator for undergraduate education at Ohio State she worked to improve students passing rates for the state board examinations. She was one of the original faculty who helped to develop the nursing curriculum at Ohio Wesleyan University and also started the nursing program at Franklin University. She retired from Franklin, but continued teaching part time at Otterbein University, then Capitol University.
