Ruth Ann Busald graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Hamilton, Ohio, in 1948. Following graduation she worked in the operating room as a nurse then a clinical instructor and also in a medical/surgical department. In 1963 she earned her master’s degree in pediatric nursing from Indiana University. Busald returned to Mercy Hospital where she served as the Associate Director of the Mercy School of Nursing and was involved in transitioning the nursing program to Miami University. Prior to retirement she was Director of Nursing at the Montgomery Care Center. Busald was an engaged member of the Ohio Nurses Association. She served on the organization’s Board of Directors and as president from 1971-1973.
