Biography
Doris Steck Edwards attended the three-year nursing program at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. After graduation she worked first at Dayton State Hospital, a psychiatric facility, and then Rollman Hospital, a private psychiatric hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She obtained both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees and then a doctoral degree in education from the University of Cincinnati where she was a member of the nursing faculty. In 1987 Edward became dean of the Capital University School of Nursing in Bexley, Ohio.

Restrictions on Access
The collection is open to the public and is available for viewing in the Medical
Heritage Center. Materials do not circulate and must be used in the supervised
reading room. Restrictions, including copyright, may exist and some materials may be
too fragile to photocopy or digitize. The MHC charges for duplication services,
which must be performed by staff.
