            <head>Biography</head>
            <p>Mildred Jester Ballinger left her home in Kenton, Ohio, for nursing school at The Ohio State University. She took her two-day state board exam in 1927. Her husband was a Methodist minister. Ballinger worked in different Ohio hospitals when he switched churches and also visited hospitals in other countries when they were on mission trips. At the time of her interview Ballinger was 98 years old.</p>

            <p>The collection is open to the public and is available for viewing in the Medical
                Heritage Center. Materials do not circulate and must be used in the supervised
                reading room. Restrictions, including copyright, may exist and some materials may be
                too fragile to photocopy or digitize. The MHC charges for duplication services,
                which must be performed by staff.
