Historical Note
During the COVID-19 global pandemic Medical Heritage Center staff collected submissions from The Ohio State University and Columbus, Ohio, community. They also conducted a survey to document the experiences of students, medical providers, faculty, staff and community members.

The COVID-19 Community Collection (144 megabytes) is comprised of submissions to and survey data gathered by the Medical Heritage Center.

Statement of Arrangement
This collection is arranged in two series:
- Series I: Submissions
- Series II: Survey Data
Series I: Submissions (19 JPG files, 1 PNG file, 2 Microsoft Word Documents) is comprised of artwork, photographs and poems submitted to the Medical Heritage Center by individuals to document and share their experiences during the COVID-19 global pandemic in 2020 and 2021. The digital files are listed in order by assigned file names.
Series II: Survey Data (1 Microsoft Excel file) gathered by the Medical Heritage Center staff. There were 715 responses from anonymous individuals. Primarily the respondents were current and emeritus faculty, current and former staff, and graduate and undergraduate students of The Ohio State University. Demographic data collected from the respondents included their age range, gender identity, ethic background and zip code. Open ended questions in the survey focused on their personal experiences during the pandemic, including experiences at work and school if they were medical providers, students or teachers.
Restrictions on Access
The collection is open to the public and available for research purposes. Materials are not available online. Please contact the MHC for further information about accessing the collection.
Restrictions, including copyright, may exist and some electronic files may have particular software or hardware requirements to utilize. The MHC staff cannot guarantee that all electronic files will be fully functional. The MHC may charge for providing copies of electronic files.
