            <abstract id="ref8" label="Abstract">In 1993, William Ditman traveled to Orenburg, Russia looking for business opportunities while working for American Electric Power Company. Subsequent trips were primarily for exchange programs he was working on. As of 2018, he has made fifteen trips to Orenburg to continue building the relationship between Lancaster and Orenburg State University. The William Ditman Papers contains scrapbooks, photographs, t-shirts, sweatshirt, and a hat regarding Ditman's work with Orenburg State University in Orenburg, Russia. A box made of Ural stone along with two VHS videocassettes titled: “Lycum Four” and “Orenburg Region Abdulino City Moy Gymnazia No 1” are also included. Material is dated 1993-2007.</abstract>

            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>In 1993, William Ditman traveled to Orenburg, Russia looking for business opportunities while working for American Electric Power Company. Subsequent trips were primarily for exchange programs he was working on. At the time, Ditman lived in Lancaster, Ohio and he and his wife connected his community with people in Orenburg. In 1995, Victor Bondarenko invited Ditman to Orenburg to speak with students in the business department, after which he was named Honored Professor. As of 2018, he has made fifteen trips to Orenburg to continue building the relationship between Lancaster and Orenburg State University.</p>
