<bioghist encodinganalog="545"><head>History of Civil War Patriotic Envelopes</head><p>Civil War patriotic envelopes features symbolic imagery of the causes motivating the war. They acted as artistic promotions of patriotic sentiments. These envelopes were non-government printing, created by print shops.
