The Michael T. Gilbert Papers contains materials from the American comic book artist and writer, best known for creating the comic book, "Doc Stearn...Mr. Monster." Gilbert also has extensive experience working for well-known comic books companies like DC and Marvel with other experience working as a scriptwriter for Disney Comics. This collection includes audiovisual materials containing interviews, panels, and artwork from Gilbert as well as textiles such as a character sweater. Other items available in the collection include correspondence, newspaper articles and clippings, editorials, and materials such as color notes, panels, rough draft sketches, proofs, and cover layouts.

Biographical Note
Michael T. Gilbert is an American comic book artist writer who has worked for both mainstream and underground comic book companies. Gilbert is best known for creating the comic book, "Doc Stearn... Mr. Monster," a creation based on a character created earlier by Fred Kelly. Gilbert has also worked extensively with DC Comics and Marvel Comics while also currently working as a scriptwriter for Disney Comics.
