Leoanard Starr (October 28, 1925- June 30, 2015) was an American cartoonist, comic book artist, advertising artist. He was best known for the comic strip "On Stage" (later retitled Mary Perkins: On Stage") and reviving "Little Orphan Annie" comic strip.
Jim Dougan purchased these materials from an eBay auction and subsequently donated the materials to the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum.
This collection includes five notebooks containing Leonard Starr's scripting notes (done as word balloons) and some layouts from his time working on the "Little Orphan Annie" comic strip in the late 1980s early 1990s. Also included is Leonard Starr's membership certificate from the National Cartoonists Society.
